I love doodling. Its occurred to me that I think I like doodling more than making finished images. So when I was recently asked to be in the latest issue of Locus Zine and given the template, I did what I think a lot of artists do. I stared at a white box hoping my hand would start moving eventually resulting in genius level artwork. Didn't happen. Obviously it didn't happen.
Getting started is painful for me a lot of the time. My creative flame starts off as more of a tea candle if anything at all, and I just have to cover that flame with a bunch of little dry bits of whatever until the fire starts.
What resulted for me this time was 280 little abstract compositions of just working through it. Interesting how they evolved over the course of the night. Take a gander and keep a lookout for the finished pieces in a little bit.
